The Philippine Embassy in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman wishes to inform the public that the Philippines again gained recognition on the worldwide stage after Vigan City in Ilocos Sur was named one of the world's New7Wonders Cities.

In this regard, the Embassy would like to thank everyone for supporting Vigan City’s candidature.

New7Wonders Foundation made the announcement on its website (http://world.new7wonders.com/2014/12/07/new7wonders-cities/) on December 7 as it ended its search for seven cities that represent the global diversity of urban society.

New7Wonders Foundation is a Swiss-registered non-profit foundation that seeks to document and conserve works of monuments worldwide.
