ADVISORY FROM THE
PHILIPPINE SECURITY EXCHANGE COMMISSION (SEC)

The Philippine Embassy in the Sultanate of Oman would like to inform the public that the Philippine Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) has issued several advisories against illegal investment activities and schemes by certain business entities registered in the Philippines.

The SEC advisories pertain to business entities that may either be:

        •  Registered with the SEC, but not authorized to solicit investment from the public due to lack of license or permit, as required under Sections 8 and 12 of the Philippine Securities Regulation Code; or

        •  Not registered with the SEC as corporation or partnership, nor issued with secondary licenses as brokers and/or dealers of securities, dealers in government securities, investment advisers of an investment company, investment house and transfer agent.

The SEC has provided an updated list of these business entities, which can be accessed on this link: http://www.sec.gov.ph/public-information-2/investors-education-and-information/advisories-and-notices/.

The Embassy requests the public, particularly the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families, to be guided accordingly.
