Philippine Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman Narciso T. Castañeda called on Mohammed Abdullah Al Riyamy, Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission of Oman (NHRC) and Member of Oman’s State Council, and Dr. Obaid Said Al-Shaqsi, Secretary General of NHRC, to personally commend the NHRC on their initiative to reach out to Filipinos in Oman by translating the English booklet on “Steps on Registering a Complaint” into Filipino. This initiative of NHRC, once fully implemented, will complement the Philippine Embassy’s efforts to provide continuing assistance for OFWs in Oman.
Chairman Al Riyamy warmly received the Philippine Ambassador and expressed interest in exploring possible avenues for cooperation between NHRC and the Philippine Commission on Human Rights (CHR), including the sharing of best practices in terms of handling human rights issues
