Requirements for Renewal of Passport
1. Online appointment

All passport applicants, including infants, must have an online appointment.

Download the forms and other documents from the appointment system. Print them out and bring them to the Embassy for your passport application.

You will receive a confirmation email from the appointment software. If you did not receive this email, you may have used a wrong email address. To change the schedule of your appointment, you may use the reschedule button embedded in the confirmation email. 2. Personal appearance
- The biometrics of the passport applicant must be captured live. This is required even for infants.
3. Duly accomplished application form
- Download, print-out and bring the correct application form:
- Passport renewal for adult applicants
- Passport renewal for minor applicants
, accomplished by either parent or legal guardian
- First-time passport applicant (minor)
, accomplished by either parent or legal guardian
- First-time passport applicant (adult – for lost passports)
4. Original current passport AND photocopy of its data page
- The passport data page is where the photo and personal details of the passport holder appears.
5. Passport renewal fee: OMR 24.000 (cash only)
- If a passport is expired for more than one (1) year upon its renewal, the applicant must accomplish an affidavit of explanation, with additional OMR 10.000 fee (cash only).

Temporarily reinstated due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this service may be suspended again when the world situation returns to normalcy. For travel purposes, the applicant must check the regulations of the country he or she is travelling to, to ensure that the immigration authorities will accept a passport with manually extended validity.
- Only applicants who have already applied for passport renewal may also apply for the manual extension of their current passport’s validity.
- Only passports with a validity of less than six (6) months can be extended.
- The manual extension of validity is only up to one year from the date of application.
- Below are acceptable reasons for applying for this service: - medical emergencies (with proof of urgency such as a copy of medical certificate, confirmed flight details) requiring the OFW and - members of his/her dependent family to urgently travel to the Philippines or another country for medical treatment; - or urgent need of the OFW to renew his/her employment visa (with photocopies of front and reverse sides of applicant’s resident’s card or latest employment visa stamp).
- The Embassy will temporarily allow the manual extension of validity to an expired passport, provided that the applicant has already applied for passport renewal. The validity of the passport cannot be manually extended beyond one (1) year from the original last date of validity of the passportdeath in the family (with proof of urgency such as a copy of death certificate, confirmed flight details) requiring the OFW and members of his/her dependent family to urgently travel to the Philippines;
REMINDERS
- The applicant will receive a text message from the Philippine Embassy when the new passport arrives from the Philippines. This text message will usually be sent out 4-6 weeks after the date of the applicant’s passport application.
- Passports shall only be released to the applicant or his/her representative (with proper identification and written authorization signed by applicant). Exemptions are applicants below 18 years old whose passport can be claimed by the parent/guardian who submitted and signed the application. To claim the passport, bring the previous passport and official receipt, and authorization (for representative claimants). No passport shall be released without the said documents.
- There is no need to book an appointment for collecting the new passport.
