In a strong show of support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Philippine Embassy hosted an informative seminar led by Dr. Noha Nawito, a breast surgeon from Burjeel Hospital, on 1 October 2024. Held at the Embassy, the event highlighted the importance of self-care and preventive health measures. Dr. Noha emphasized that awareness should not stop at the individual level, but should be shared with families, loved ones, and friends to spread the vital message of early detection and health care.
During the event, His Excellency Raul S. Hernandez highlighted the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed earlier this year between the Philippine Embassy and Burjeel Hospital. This partnership provides Filipinos access to discounted, high-quality healthcare services at Burjeel, making essential medical care more affordable for the community.
The Embassy continues its advocacy for better healthcare and encourages the Filipino community to be proactive in their health, especially in the fight against breast cancer.
