2019 Foreign Service Officer (FSO) Examinations
The Philippine Embassy in the Sultanate of Oman hereby informs the public that the Department of Foreign Affairs’ Board of Foreign Service Examinations (DFA-BFSE) has started accepting applications for the 2019 Foreign Service Officer (FSO) Examinations.
Only Filipino citizens who are permanent residents of the Philippines are qualified to take the FSO Examinations. Overseas Filipinos who are not permanent residents in their host countries are welcome to apply.
Qualified applicants in Oman must submit the following complete requirements to the Philippine Embassy on or before 29 November 2018, Thursday, 5:00 p.m.:
- Accomplished application form
- printed on legal size (8.5” x 13”) paper; and
- notarized at the Philippine Embassy;
- Accomplished application for Civil Service Examination
- printed on legal size (8.5” x 13”) paper; and
- notarized at the Philippine Embassy
- Copy of transcript of records of a four (4)-year tertiary education course with the seal of the issuing Philippine college or university
- Copy of diploma or certificate of graduation of the above four (4)-year tertiary education course with the seal of the issuing Philippine college or university
- For graduates of foreign schools, copies of transcript of records and diploma (or certificate of graduation):
- certified as true copies by the issuing foreign school;
- with English translation, if applicable; and
- authenticated by the Philippine Embassy or Consulate exercising jurisdiction over the country where the school is located;
- For applicants with post-graduate degrees, copies of transcript of records and diploma (or certificate of graduation):
- certified as true copies by the issuing Philippine college or university;
- if educational institution is foreign, the documents must also be translated to English, if applicable; and
- authenticated by the Philippine Embassy or Consulate exercising jurisdiction over the country where the school is located;
- Certificate of employment from current employer and past employers, if any;
- Photocopy of birth certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), formerly National Statistics Office (NSO);
- For Filipinos born abroad, if no PSA-issued birth certificate is available:
- Report of Birth authenticated by the issuing Philippine Embassy or Consulate; and
- Certification of non-availability of birth certificate from the PSA;
- For Filipinos born abroad, if no PSA-issued birth certificate is available:
- For married applicants, copy of a marriage contract or Report of Marriage issued by the PSA;
- For applicants with dual or multiple citizenship:
- affidavit stating that, upon passing the examination, the applicant intends to renounce his/her allegiance to his/her other country/ies of citizenship; and
- affidavit stating that he/she is a permanent resident of the Philippines;
(Both affidavits must be notarized at the Philippine Embassy;)
- Ten (10) colored photographs, following specifications stated in page 4 of the attached Announcement;
- Copies of two (2) valid identification cards (IDs), with originals to be presented to the receiving personnel upon submission of the requirements;
- Additional two (2) sets of copies of the above documents;
- Non-refundable fee equivalent to PHP 500.00 (OMR 3.600) to be paid to the Philippine Embassy, payable only if the documents are found complete upon inspection and accepted for submission to the DFA-BFSE.
