Philippine Ambassador Joins ASEAN Ambassadors’ Visit to Ibri
Philippine Ambassador to Oman, H.E. Narciso T. Castañeda, participated in the ASEAN Committee in Muscat (ACM) visit to the city of Ibri in the Al Dhahirah Governorate on 12 December 2018.
The Ambassadors of the ASEAN-member Missions in Oman met with the Governor of Al Dhahirah Governorate, Shaikh Saif bin Humair Al Shehhi, and with other local officials, during the call on the Governor at his office in Ibri. The ACM members explored with the local officials opportunities for cooperation that would promote relations between Al Dhahirah and the ASEAN states.
In particular, Ambassador Castañeda conveyed his appreciation to the Governor for welcoming Filipino workers in his Governorate and expressed hopes to open future ties in the area of commerce and trade. Al Dhahirah hosts a growing number of Filipino workers in the service, health and oil/gas industries.
The Philippine Embassy is a member of the ACM, along with the Embassies of Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and the Consulate General of Singapore. END.
