09 January 2014 – The Philippine Embassy in Muscat, Oman informed the Department of Foreign Affairs that fast-food chain Chowking opened its second branch at Muscat City Center (MCC) on January 06.

The first branch opened at Qurum City Center (QCC) on 20 May 2012. The store was unveiled with a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony facilitated by the Embassy’s Third Secretary and Vice Consul Jose L. Garcia III, QCC and MCC General Manager Hussam Al Mandari, and Chowking Orient Restaurant General Manager Divya Kowshik. 

Mr. Kowshik conveyed Chowking Orient Restaurant’s interest in expanding their business in Oman by opening more branches. 

Vice Consul Garcia welcomed this initiative and expressed high hopes that more Philippine fast food chains will do business in Oman. END
