30 December 2012 – The Philippine Embassy in Muscat held a story telling activity on the life and works of our national hero Jose Rizal at the embassy’s Sentro Rizal as part of its commemorative activities for the 116th anniversary of the hero’s martyrdom. The activity was participated by children of Embassy officers and staff.

With this year’s theme: “Rizal 2012: Ehemplo ng Sambayan sa Tuwid na Daan”, these young individuals who from the words of our national hero “Ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan” are the hope of our nation, learned about important values through the story telling of “The Monkey and the Tortoise”, a short story written by Rizal. After hearing the short story, each child shared his view on the story read, with a particular focus on the important values that were learned from the story. End.
