28 December 2012 – Around 200 OFWs in Oman benefited from the Medical Mission organized by Triskelion International – Sultanate of Oman at the consular area and labor office of the Embassy. Since its inception last year, Triskelion’s medical mission has grown significantly as the medical services offered to OFWs now include ECG, eye check-up, free medicines and referrals for mammography, apart from the medical consultation/general checkup which was offered last year. One hundred OFWs availed of the free medical check-up, 32 for ECG, and 24 for the free eye examination by volunteer optometrists.
A representative doctor and four nurses from the Oman Ministry of Health were also present during the mission to facilitate the blood donation activity, which is also part of the medical mission. There were 26 OFWs who donated blood to the Oman Ministry of Health
The Medical Mission was supported by the Philippine Embassy in Muscat, the Filipino Community Social Club (FILCOSOC), Nova Medical Center Middle East and volunteer Filipino doctors and nurses in Oman.
