30 November 2012 - The Philippine Embassy in Muscat, in collaboration with the Filipino Community Social Club (FILCOSOC), the umbrella organization of all Filipino community groups in Oman, presented the 1st Paskong Pinoy in the Sultanate of Oman.

The event dubbed as, “1st Paskong Pinoy sa Muscat: A Christmas Chorale Concert” showcased the Filipino tradition of songs and music in celebrating Christmas, Pilipinas-style.

Five Filipino chorale groups in colorful Christmas outfits sang various Yuletide carols. Tagalog and English songs touched the audience’s hearts and shared the nostalgia of Christmas in the Philippines through the performances.

The remarkable event was a first in the Sultanate of Oman and was meant to further cultural understanding between the Filipino community and local Omani people. The Filipino community hopes that Paskong Pinoy will be an annual event in Muscat. End.
