pic214 December 2011 ---- The Philippine School (PS) in the Sultanate of Oman celebrated its 22nd Foundation Day through a series of activities which started off with the PS Cultural Night. The PS Chorale and PS Dance Troupe captivated the audience with their rendition of Philippine folk songs and dances. Foreign students from Thailand, India, Africa, Europe and the Gulf Region also shared their rich cultures through presentation of traditional dances. 

In her welcome remarks, Dr. Rolaiza Roniella S. Singayao, Chairman of the PS Board of Trustees, thanked the faculty and the students for contributing to the progress of the Philippine School, and congratulated them for the 22 years of hard work and steadfast commitment. The student population of the Philippine School in Oman numbers 700. Ambassador Joselito A. Jimeno was the guest of honor. In his inspirational message, Ambassador Jimeno underscored the importance of education, particularly in science and mathematics, to a country’s progress and development. He posed a challenge to the leaders and administrators of the Philippine School to provide the best quality education and produce outstanding graduates, who will be the country’s pride.
