01 July 2014 - The Philippine Embassy in Muscat, Oman conducted a lecture on women’s health on June 26 as part of its Gender and Development (GAD) activities.
There were 28 female participants in the very informative lecture. Dr. Noreen Gay Mendoza-Oliveros, Medical Officer at the Sumail Central Prison Hospital, was the resource speaker for the seminar.
Special topics discussed included cervical and breast cancer awareness, osteoporosis, pregnancy and menopause, and sexually-transmitted diseases affecting women. A question and answer portion and an interactive discussion followed the two-hour lecture.
The participants were appreciative of the opportunity to attend the lecture and looked forward to similar GAD activities in the future. END
