04 July 2014 – Philippine Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman Narciso T. Castañeda assumed chairmanship of the ASEAN Committee in Muscat (ACM) last June 24 during the 10th ACM meeting held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel Muscat. Outgoing ACM Chairman Dato Rustam Yahaya, Ambassador of Malaysia, formally handed over to Ambassador Castañeda the ACM documents and gavel which symbolize the transfer of chairmanship from Malaysia to the Philippines.

The hand-over ceremony was immediately followed by the 10th ACM meeting chaired by Ambassador Castañeda. END
