Lulu Hypermarket LLC, the biggest hypermarket in Oman, launched today “Pinoy Fiesta” in all its stores in the Sultanate. Pinoy Fiesta is Lulu’s marketing campaign which intends to showcase and highlight the wide variety of Filipino products available at its stores. This promotion will run from October 15 to November 01.

The opening ceremony held on October 15 at Lulu Bousher in Muscat was attended by Philippine Ambassador to Oman Narciso T. Castañeda, who was the guest of honor for the occasion. Activities included a ribbon and cake cutting ceremony and a tour of the Filipino product displays which contain a variety of food items such as canned goods, sauces, baked breads, chips, cooked meals and fresh fruits. The event was also made more colorful by a cultural dance performed by the 30 Filipino employees of Lulu Hypermarket. Guests also enjoyed the live cooking by a Filipino chef and tasting/sampling of different Filipino food.

Ambassador Castañeda thanked the management and staff of Lulu Hypermarket for its valuable support in promoting Filipino food products not only to Filipino patrons, but also to Omani nationals and the expatriate communities and expressed hope that through this initiative, there will be a bigger market for Philippine products in Oman.
