The Philippine Embassy in Muscat conducted a lecture on “Oman’s Policies and Laws on Women” on September 29 as part of its Gender and Development (GAD) programs and activities for the third quarter of 2015.

Attorney Shaji. K. Nair, Senior Legal Adviser of Ahmed Al Shaili Advocacy and Legal Consultants, was the resource speaker for the lecture.

The lecture was attended by Embassy officers and staff and their dependents, female wards housed at the FWRC, selected female members of the Philippine School Oman faculty and members of the Filipino community.

The participants were informed on the relevant laws of Oman that apply to them and/or affect them, including provisions of the labor law that afford protection to women. END
