The Philippines and Oman signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cultural Cooperation on February 02 in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman.

Hon. Felipe M. De Leon, Jr., Chairman of the National Commission on Culture and the Arts (NCCA), and Sheikh Hamad Bin Hilal Al-Ma’amari, Undersecretary for Cultural Affairs of the Ministry of Heritage and Culture, signed the agreement within the context of the on-going 2nd Philippines-Oman Joint Bilateral Consultation Meeting (JBCM) hosted by the Sultanate.

The agreement will seek to strengthen the cultural and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries through the various expressions of the arts, preservation of cultural heritage, promotion of traditional crafts, cooperation between libraries and visits of artists and experts in these fields.  END
