Philippine Embassy in Oman Holds 3rd Quarter Consular Outreach Mission

The Philippine Embassy in Oman successfully conducted its 3rd Quarter Consular Outreach Mission in Salalah on 11 October 2019 at the Muscat International Hotel Salalah. The outreach mission is part of the continuing effort of the Embassy to increase the accessibility of quality consular service to Filipinos in Oman.
Over 500 overseas Filipino nationals living and working in Salalah and the nearby areas in the Dhofar region went to the event venue and availed of the various consular services provided by the Embassy team.
Salalah is the second largest city in Oman and is around 1,100 kilometres from the capital city Muscat. An estimated 10,000 Filipinos are residing in Salalah and the vicinity area.
The Embassy Consular Outreach team was able to provide close to 400 various consular services, majority of which were passport applications. The Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO)-Muscat was also on hand to process various labor-related concerns including membership to OWWA and the verification of labor contracts. A number of cases of distressed overseas Filipinos were also attended to by the Embassy’s ATN unit and a Post Arrival Orientation Seminar to 20 newly arrived OFWs in Salalah was also held.
The Embassy conducts the consular outreach in Salalah once every quarter. END
