The Philippine Embassy in Muscat conducted field voting for the 2022 Philippine National Elections in Sohar, the capital and largest city of the Al Batinah North Governorate, 262 kilometers from Muscat. The number of Filipinos this year who cast their votes in Sohar in the 2022 National Elections almost tripled from 76 voters in 2016.

Some 350 Filipinos renewed their passports, processed notarial documents, and voted in the 2022 Philippine National Elections in Salalah and Duqm. Salalah, the second major city of Oman, is located 1,000 kilometers from Muscat, the capital. It is home to the second Largest Filipino community in Oman. Duqm is a Special Economic Zone over 500 kilometers from Muscat; this is the first mission of the Embassy to this area. The Philippine Embassy aims to hold consular outreach missions in Salalah and other governorates with Filipinos at least 2-3 times per year.
